Jonny is a right-handed batter who plays for his home side Yorkshire in the domestic league. He made his debut in the IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad back in 2019 and has been a homely name to the franchise ever since.

The turning point in his career came in 2016 when he set a record for most dismissals by a wicket-keeper in a calendar year.

He also set a new record for most runs in test matches by a wicket-keeper in the same year by scoring 1470 runs in test matches. He began to capture the attention of selectors post this incident.

Jonny Bairstow made his T20I Debut on 23 September 2011 against the West Indies following his One Day International debut against India on 16 September 2011.

He finally received his maiden test call-up against the West Indies on 17 May 2012.His mother’s name is Janet Bairstow and he has 2 siblings – Andrew Bairstow(brother), a former first-class cricketer, and Rebecca Bairstow(sister).
