Netflix Series Delhi Crime based on 2012 gangrape case wins International Emmy

Netflix series ‘Delhi Crime‘, based on the 2012 gangrape-murder case, won an International Emmy in the ‘Best Drama Series’ category on Monday .

the lead actors in the series Shefali Shah shared a video on Twitter of the award .

It was written and directed by Richie Mehta, who was also the executive producer, and was produced by Golden Karavan, a global production company.

After the results were announced, several people, especially Bollywood personalities, took to Twitter to congratulate the cast and crew of the series.

The series is a crime drama based on the brutal gang rape and assault of a 23-year-old physiotherapy intern by six men on a bus on 16 December 2012 in New Delhi. She later succumbed to her injuries. On 20 March 2020, the culprits were hanged on court orders.

The other Indian web series in the race for the International Emmy Awards was Amazon Prime’s ‘Four More Shots’ in the ‘Best Comedy’ category.
