Shamita Shetty was born on born 2 February 1979.
Her portrayal of Ishika earned her the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the year. She was a contestant in the reality show, Bigg Boss 3, in 2009.
She later participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 (2015) and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 in 2019, and became one of the finalists.

While she was interning under designer Manish Malhotra and he adviced her to make a career in acting.
Her father Surendra and her mother Sunanda are both manufacturers of tamper-proof water caps in the pharmaceutical industry. She is the sister of actress Shilpa Shetty.
She did her schooling at the St. Anthony’s Girls’ High School, Mumbai.[10] After completing her degree in Commerce from Sydenham college, Shamita did a fashion designing diploma from SNDT college Mumbai.
After this, she started her internship with ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra, but Manish saw a spark in her and suggested to prep her for her acting career.
In 2011, Shamita decided to follow her passion in Interior design[and did her first solo project by designing Royalty,a club in Mumbai. Later, her love for interior design pushed her to do a diploma from Central Saint Martins and Inchbald School of Design in London.[
Shamita entered the showbiz in 2000 with the superhit film, Mohabbatein for which she also won an award for Best Debut of the Year.
