Suzie Bates represented New Zealand in Women’s basketball during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Suzie Bates played professional basketball for Christchurch Sirens in the Australian Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), starting 24 games between 2007 and 2008,before moving to the Otago Gold Rush in 2009 and the Logan Thunder (WNBL) in 2009/10

In the summer Olympics, Suzie Bates was part NZ basketball team in 2008. Suzie Bates played twenty-four games for WNB in Australia as a part of fr.Christchurch Sirens.

Suzie Bates scored her 10th 100 in ODI cricket in a match against Ireland by scoring one hundred and fifty-one runs and also became the leading run-scorer by NZ in ODI cricket of Women on June 8, 2018.

Suzie Bates scored her 1st century in women’s t20 in a match against SA in a tri-national series on June 20, 2018. Suzie also became the leading run-scorer in this format in this match. She was only the 2nd woman to play 100 t20 matches in woman cricket history just after the Jenny Gunn of England (In the 6th match of this series).

In October, Suzie Bates made her name into the squad for the ICC women’s t20 world 2018 held in WI. In this tournament, she became the only cricketer in both male and female cricket to score three thousand runs in t20 history. She was the highest run-getter for the NZ in this tournament. She scores 161 runs with the bat in just 4 matches.

For the BBL season of 2018-19, her name was in the squad of Adelaide Striker’s team. In January, her name was also part of the NZ team to play the ICC women’s t20 world cup held in Australia.
