Netflix has released the trailer of its latest film with great actors Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep and others in it. The Ryan Murphy directed movie ‘The Prom’ features high-schooler Emma Nolan (Jo Ellen Pellman) taking a stand and a troupe of Broadway actors played by James Corden, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Andrew Rannells seeking to make a splash in small-town Indiana as they come to her aid.
The film, ‘The Prom’ is based on the Tony-nominated Broadway musical of the same name.The trailer of the film has a lot of singing, dancing as the name suggests.
The film’s screenplay is written by Broadway scribes Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, The Prom also features Kerry Washington, Keegan-Michael Key, Tracey Ullman and Mary Kay Place.
The story includes New York City stage stars Dee Dee Allen (Streep) and Barry Glickman (Corden) who’ve just had a costly Broadway flop when they know of an Indiana high-school student who’s been banned from attending the prom with her girlfriend (Ariana DeBose). Seeking to improve their public images, they set off for the midwest, with actors Angie (Kidman) and Trent (Rannells). While the theater stars’ self-absorbed activism is a failure, they ultimately join forces to give Emma a memorable prom where all are welcome.
It is set to hit few theaters in December and will start streaming on December 11.
